University of Florida Shands Cancer Center Achieves Goal and Goes Live with OnCore in Under Four Months

MADISON, Wis. (October 1, 2009) - The University of Florida Shands Cancer Center (UFSCC) set an aggressive timeline for their implementation of a new clinical research management system and, in just over three months, they met it. Back in June, the cancer clinical trials office began migrating data from their legacy system and rolling-out the OnCore system for clinical research management (OnCore-CRM). On Wednesday, September 23rd, the new OnCore users celebrated the go live of the new system with cake.

Improving Research Efficiencies through Collaboration was theme of Onsemble 2009 Fall Conference

MADISON, Wis. (September 18, 2009) – There just never seems to be enough time at the semi-annual Onsemble conferences. With a whirlwind of activity, the eighth face-to-face gathering of the OnCore community was no exception for the 117 people who attended.

Member and guest contributions are critical to the success of all Onsemble conferences. For this event, representatives from 16 cancer centers sat on the Program Committee, which began working in March to plan the agenda. At the conference, presentations were delivered by over 22 member and special-guest speakers. Slide presentations, videos and other materials from the conference are now available for download from the Onsemble.net website.

University of Florida Shands Cancer Center Selects OnCore to Support it's Collaborative Research Goals

(July 13, 2009) – An institutional goal to develop collaborative partnerships with other research organizations was a key factor in the recent decision by the University of Florida Shands Cancer Center (UFSCC) to select OnCore® products in support of their clinical and translational research informatics needs. West Virginia University Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center Selects OnCore® as it’s Clinical Research Informatics Platform

MADISON, Wis. (April 14, 2009) – On April 1st, PercipEnz received the signed contract for OnCore from the West Virginia University Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center (MBRCC).

With the signing of the contract for the OnCore Clinical Research Management system (OnCore CRM), the MBRCC has become the 24th cancer center to adopt the OnCore platform in support of its clinical research informatics needs. OnCore is the most widely adopted informatics platform among cancer centers nationwide and is used by one out of every four NCI-designated cancer centers.

The MBRCC is West Virginia’s most comprehensive cancer treatment, research and education facility.  The center offers a multidisciplinary team approach and state of the art technologies and treatments, as well as the latest clinical trials and a variety of education and prevention outreach programs.

Winship Cancer Institute Earns Prestigious NCI Cancer Center Designation

The Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University's Woodruff Health Sciences Center has earned the prestigious National Cancer Institute Cancer Center Designation. With this distinction, Emory Winship realizes a decades-long goal and joins the ranks of this nation's elite cancer research and treatment facilities.

Winship's NCI designation means patients throughout Emory Healthcare and its affiliates, including the Georgia Cancer Center of Excellence at Grady and the Atlanta VA Medical Center, will realize greater access to new clinical trials and technologies that are available only through NCI-designated cancer centers. In addition, the designation will enable Emory to continue to develop research initiatives that will result in new therapies for patients throughout Georgia, the region, and the United States.

Emory's Winship Cancer Institute serves as a coordinating center for an array of cancer research, treatment and other programs throughout Emory and partnering institutions, among them Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Georgia Tech, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the American Cancer Society.

(February 26, 2009) - With the signing of their contract for the OnCore® clinical research management system in January, the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC) of the Unversity of California-Irvine became the 22nd cancer center to adopt the OnCore platform in support of its clinical research informatics needs. Center director, Frank L. Meyskens, Jr., M.D., announced last week that the CFCCC has purchased both the OnCore Clinical Research Management system (OnCore CRM) as well as the OnCore Biospecimen Management system (OnCore-BSM).
